Four Pacific nations participated in the Second Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on Cluster Munitions, in addition to Australia and New Zealand: State Party Fiji, signatory Palau, and two non-signatories: Kiribati and the Solomon Islands. Read more

On 8 September 2011, Afghanistan deposited its instrument of ratification to the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions with the United Nations in New York, becoming the 62nd signatory to ratify. Read more

The New Zealand government must take measures to ensure compliance with the 2009 law prohibiting investment in the development and production of cluster bombs, said the Aotearoa New Zealand Cluster Munition Coalition (ANZCMC) today in a letter to the government and press release. Read more
