When the winter recess ends on 16 August, the Australian Senate is expected to hold a final debate on its deeply flawed legislation to implement the Convention on Cluster Munitions.
The Aotearoa New Zealand Cluster Munition Coalition (ANZCMC) has written to Australian High Commissioner Paul O’Sullivan to urge Australia to fix its proposed legislation to implement the ban on cluster munitions. The High Commission responded on 21 June 2011. Read more

Don’t use cluster munitions Thailand!

In a letter to Thailand’s diplomatic representative in New Zealand, Ambassador Noppadon Theppitak, the ANZCMC has expressed deep concern at Thailand’s use of cluster munitions in its February 2011 border conflict with Cambodia and urges Thailand to join the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions without delay.
