Wellington Event: Drumming Session + Film Screening

WHEN - Sunday, 1 August 2010: Drumming starts at 12.00pm, Film screening at 1.00pm

WHERE - Capital E (McKenzie Theatre), Civic Square, WELLINGTON

WHO - Hosted by the Aotearoa New Zealand Cluster Munition Coalition, a campaign comprised of 23 non-governmental organizations, this event is open to everyone. Kids of all ages are welcome to join in the drumming and other kid-friendly activities!

WHY – On Sunday, August 1st, the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions will take effect, becoming binding international law in New Zealand and around the world.

Come help kick off a worldwide series of actions to welcome in the ban!

  • Bring a drum or a percussion instrument (even a cooking pot and wooden spoon will do!) and join in the drumming session
  • Watch a special preview screening of a new, locally-made 20-minute film on New Zealand’s role in the cluster bomb ban
  • Have a chat with the film-makers and campaigners over a hot chocolate
