Next Wednesday, 26 August, the ANZCMC Coordinator Mary Wareham will give an early evening talk at Auckland University on New Zealand’s work to ban cluster bombs. Details follow and a flyer is also available for download.

Speaker Mary Wareham is national coordinator Aotearoa New Zealand Cluster Munition Coalition (ANZCMC), which is campaigning for the government’s swift ratification of the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions. Mary Wareham has coordinated the ANZCMC since its establishment in March 2007 and, as a senior advisor to the Arms Division of Human Rights Watch (HRW), has specific responsibility for leading HRW’s campaign to promote the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions. She will speak about the role New Zealand played in securing the adoption of this new international treaty as well as progress on ratification.
