ANZCMC_Adshel3This third daily action alert by the Aotearoa New Zealand Cluster Munition Coalition targets POLAND, which has not yet decided if it will sign the Convention on Cluster Munitions this December…

Status
Poland manufactures cluster munitions and wishes to retain the weapon.  In September 2008, Poland’s Defence Minister Bogdan Klich, asked by said, ‘This isn’t just a whim. We need those weapons to defend our territory.” An observer in the Oslo Process (including at the Wellington Conference in February 2008) , Poland did not adopt the Convention on Cluster Munitions in May 2008. It has preferred to tackle cluster munitions through the moribund Geneva-based Convention on Conventional Weapons (CCW).
