PowhiriWlg_18Feb0818 Feb 08 - The Wellington Conference on cluster munitions kicked off this morning with elegates from more than 120 countries and 137 civil society representatives in attendance. This meeting represents a critical crossroads in the Oslo Process, as the draft treaty text from this meeting will be the basis of negotiations in Dublin in May.

Click here for Monday’s update.  The global Cluster Munition Coalition including Oxfam NZ and Amnesty NZ issued media statements. Cluster bomb survivors Soraj Ghulab Habib and Branislav Kapetanovich spoke to the plenary together with Steve Goose of Human Rights Watch, CMC co-chair. The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) issued a daily update on the conference.
