Speakers:

JodyMs. Jody Williams won the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize for her work to secure the international ban on landmines. She chairs the Nobel Women’s Initiative and advocates on a range of human security issues. In early 2007, Williams led a High Level Mission on Darfur, authoring a hard-hitting report to the UN’s Human Rights Council calling for an end to the war in Darfur. She is an eloquent and inspirational speaker who has received fifteen honorary degrees. Jody is co-editor of the book Banning Landmines: Disarmament, Citizen Diplomacy, and Human Security (forthcoming) together with Steve Goose and Mary Wareham.
