Herald Ad
On 28 November 2007, the New Zealand Herald, the country’s largest daily newspaper (circulation: 200,000), printed a multiple page “find the cluster bomb” advertisment by the ANZCMC.Communications agency DraftFCB, which is providing creative support to the NZ Cluster Munition Coalition, secured the ad space for free when it won an industry-wide APN competition for the most creative use of newspaper media. The ad concept is comprised of a series of small ads scattered randomly throughout the paper to demonstrate how a cluster bomb works and highlight the arbitrary nature of the weapon and its impact on civilians.
